Happy Halloween Everyone! Hope everyone is doing okay! I am fighting a cold and CX is sick as well! KQ just got over being sick. This has been a rough week!
I figured since it was halloween I would share the cosutme that I made for KQ last year- since I already shared the costume I made for her this year.
Last Halloween KQ wanted to be a monster. This project was easy to do! I got a black zip up hoodie and some black sweat pants. I got Styrofoam balls and cones and painted them. The "spots" are made out of very thick felt. She didn't want to do just normal spots but something different. We cut out different shapes. I glued them all on the outfit and voila! The finished product!

Since Halloween is here I figured I would post my pictures of the costume I made for my daughter. She insisted on being Midna from The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. What can I say we are huge video game nerds in this family! It was a challenging costume to do for sure! It took me a long time to make but the smile on her face when she got to put it on all finished was all worth it!
The first thing I did was I got a zoot suit in black. I taped it all off with painters tape.
This is the back of the outfit.
This is the helmet. I didn't think to take pictures of the process of making the helmet. It was a lot of work though. I used one of the black mats that connects together for your floor. I cut it out and hot glued it to the shape of Midna's helmet. I then looked at the designs online and began carving them into the helmet. This took a LOT of time to do!
The back of the helmet and Midna's hair. The hair is actually an orange shirt I got at good will for like $2. I glued it to the helmet and shred the shirt to make it look like her hair.
The finished project : KQ was so excited to have it on she had to run and look at herself in the mirror!
KQ ready for halloween! She was so excited! The designs on the outfit turned out okay. I was not happy with the spray paint I bought. It was suppose to be white and it is more of a gray color.
Overall I am really pleased with it! It took a long time to make but she LOVES it! Plus the out fit is a little big so she could potentially wear it in a couple of years!
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!
